When is it time to talk to someone? Signs to look out for
Many people wait a long time before asking for help, often because they think their problems are “not serious enough”. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from talking to a professional.
Signs it may be time
- Low mood, worry or irritability that lasts for more than two weeks.
- Changes in sleep, appetite or energy.
- Withdrawing from friends, activities or things you used to enjoy.
- Difficulties at work, in your studies or in relationships.
- Using alcohol or other substances to cope.
- Feeling stuck, or that the same patterns keep repeating.
What happens in a first session
A first session is simply a conversation. You talk about what brings you, what you would like to change, and whether the counsellor feels like a good fit. At Prague Integration, the first discovery session is free and online.
